The 50-year-old Awni Al-Khattabi from Irbid said he suffered from a herniated disc between the third and fourth, and the fourth and fifth vertebrae, which was pressing on his nerves.

He added, “I have been suffering since 1998. Lately, I was eating while lying in bed, and I prayed and performed dry ablution (tayammum) without the ability to make any movement, no matter how small.”

He explained that Civil Defense used to take him to the hospital every week to receive painkillers and then return him to his bed.

“In the early days of my illness, I visited many hospitals and physical therapy centers in Jordan without any benefit… The condition kept worsening instead of improving… I raised the white flag and surrendered to my cruel fate for more than 30 years.”

Then came relief… then came joy… I shed tears of happiness and delight… I returned to how I used to be… Hope was revived in my soul… I came back without pain… without fatigue… without suffering… without nervousness… Despair and frustration disappeared… because the herniated disc disappeared.
